Hyde Park council approves online bill payment for city’s customers

HYDE PARK — It’s going to get a little easier to pay your bills for Hyde Park, and the City Council has approved the plan for online payment.

Councilwoman Carol Johnson said it looked good for many reasons. She said it is more inviting for people to pay online.

Councilman Brent Kelly agreed. “It’s a money maker really,” he said. Looking at the figures, he said it would save the city money every month.

Mayor Bryan Cox said it’s very appealing to the city as well.

“We can make a down payment on something great,” he said.

It was approved unanimously and the council members seemed very excited about the prospect themselves.

Another exciting development from the meeting is the possibility of Maverick purchasing more property in Hyde Park. Cox said they have an interest in being more involved in the community. “It’s a good opportunity for other businesses come to Hyde Park,” he said.
