Otero’s Boehme selected to play in NJCAA All Star game

LA JUNTA, Colo. — Aubry Boehme, a 6’0" post player for the Otero Junior College women’s basketball team has been selected to play in the 2011 NJCAA Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association’s All Star game. Boehme, from Smithfield, Utah, is one of 40 players selected from throughout the United States. The games will be played July 9-10 on the campus of Pensacola State College in Florida.

As a freshman this past year, Boehme led the Lady Rattlers to the Region IX championship game where the Lady Rattlers won the runner-up title. She was selected to the All-Tournament team, the All-Region team, and was named to the Academic All-Region team. She led the team in scoring, blocks and was the second leading rebounder for the Lady Rattlers.

Taylor Wagner, head coach for the Lady Rattlers, said Boehme’s honor is well deserved.

“This is a great opportunity for Aubry to showcase herself against the best talent in the country. Aubry has generated a lot of interest from 4 year schools and this All Star game will give her even more exposure. She is a great person, a great teammate and this honor is well deserve,” said Wagner.
