It’s been a wild off season for members of the Sky View coaching ranks, and Sky View has as many holes right now in that area as a block of Swiss Cheese.

As previously reported Sky View is going through some changes in their coaching positions and one of the most recent changes is the loss of Head Boy’s Basketball Coach Kevin Anderson. On May 7th the Herald Journal reported on the loss of yet another head coach at the local high school.

Kevin Andersen coached the boy’s team for three years and this year helped guide the team to the second round of the State High School Championship Tournament. Andersen coached several players named to various honors including this year’s Herald Journal All-Valley Team Player of the Year, Casey Oliverson. Under Andersen the boy’s took second in region 5 twice, and was first place in the region at the end of the regular season this year.

When the players lace up their shoes next season they will be led by a familiar face as assistant Kirk Hillyard has been handed the reigns to the program.

While the boy’s basketball program has filled their head coach position, as recently as this past weekend the boy’s soccer program developed a vacancy when Doyle Geddes stepped down as head coach but announced he would continue on as the girl’s head soccer coach.

Other coaching vacancies yet to be filled are the head girl’s basketball coaching position after the surprise announcement that Paul Hansen was stepping down after six successful seasons in that position.

Also needing filled is the head wrestling coach position that needs to still be filled after Kyle Wright announced that he was stepping down after many seasons including producing back to back state champions in the 145 pound weight class in Brayden Anderson this season and last.

Stay tuned for more information on any other changes that may be made and for announcements as to who will fill these currently open positions.
