The Sky View Bobcats baseball team came into Friday’s game with a plan to finish the season on a high note by beating the valley rival Mountain Crest Mustangs, but that was just not meant to be. Unfortunately superb pitching by the Mustangs, and the silent bats and inconsistent defensive play of the Bobcats left them looking to next season as they fell by a score of 8-0 to the Mustangs who finish the season at 18-4 (12-3 Region 5). Starting this September three Lady Bobcats from Sky View will become Rattlers in Colorado. Friday afternoon Aubry Boehme, Taylor Rock, and Nicole Hansen signed letters of intent — and received full-ride scholarships — to attend Otero Junior College in LaJunta, Colorado. “They will only be responsible for books,” said Taylor Wagner, head coach of the women’s basketball team. In what was somewhat of a Region 5 pillow-fight, the Logan Grizzlies roughed up and made short work of the Sky View Bobcats winning 12-2 in six innings. The Bobcats (3-16, 3-10 Region 5) continue to struggle this season and fall to fifth place where they will finish regardless of the outcome in their season finale against second place Mountain Crest Mustangs. Senior Tanner Crockett shined as the Sky View Bobcats Boys Soccer Teams’ struggles continued Tuesday night at Crimson Field, as the Bobcats (1-12-2) fell to the Logan Grizzlies, 6-3. With one game remaining in the season, the Bobcats remain winless in Region 5 action (0-7) and have only one win to their credit, a 2-0 victory coming in their second game of the season to Morgan from Region 11. LOGAN—Sky View tied Friday’s matchup with Valley rival Logan, after trailing 3-0 midway through the game. That elation was short-lived, however, when Grizzly sophomore Russell Murphy drove in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning with a walk-off shot to deep left field. (Continued…)

SMITHFIELD—After blowing out Valley rival Logan in the first meeting between the two teams, Sky View found the going much tougher the second time around. Amy Andrus, a senior at Sky View High School, signed her national letter of intent for Metropolitan State College of Denver. Andrus has accepted a full ride scholarship and is excited to be playing in Denver for the next four years. (Continued…)

Sky View Lacrosse had an exceptionally great game last night beating Box Elder 20-7. Sky View was lead by Keaton Cluff, Karson Fullmer and Tanton Jeppson with five goals each. Sean Bergeson and Chris Morrill both had two goals, and Jon El Bakri rounded out the scoring with one goal. (Continued…)

The pre-season Beet Digger Tournament turned out to be very successful for both the Sky View Varsity and JV teams. The JV team won 3 of their 4 games. The JV team played West Jordan on Friday with a win 4-1, Brighton on Friday, winning 9-2, and Lone Peak on Saturday winning 9-1. They tied the last one against Alta in the semi final round. As Alta had the first goal, they were declared the winner and moved on to the finals. That tie ended the JV’s 20 game winning streak. (Continued…)
