Bobcats bulldoze the Bulldogs to win Homecoming game

Homecoming week is always sweeter with a victory on the football field. The gridiron action did not disappoint on Friday night as the Bobcats struck first and put up a 59-14 victory over the Provo Bulldogs.

Sky View put up 45 points in the first half with three touchdown passes by quarterback Braxton Godderidge. Logan Miller was the recipient of one touchdown pass while, Bryce Mortenson caught a pair. Running back Dane Anderson added two scores on the ground, while Issac Herrmann returned a kickoff for a touchdown late in the second quarter. Zaden Clark added 3 points on a 48 yard field goal to close out the half.

Half time saw Julie Wood Larsen inducted into the Sky View Hall of Fame and Douglas K. Lemon honored as this year’s Distinguished Alumni.

After the crowd was entertained by a precision dance performed by the Vistauns, they were presented Mr. Sky View and Homecoming royalty. This year’s Mr. Sky View is Jeff Huffman, Homecoming Queen is Nicole Parks and attendants were Rachel Wilkey, Elise Clark, Rachel White, and Amanda Hansen.

Shortly after the third quarter began head coach Craig Anhder told his coaches to put in those that hadn’t played yet and to try and get all seniors some playing time.

This group continued to score putting up 14 more points in the second half.

In the third quarter Dane Anderson scored on a 14 yard carry, while Dillon Smith added 7 points on a 39 yard sprint to the end zone.

The Bobcats now 4-1-0 overall (1-0-0 Region) will be at home again this week as they take on valley rival the Mountain Crest Mustangs on Friday at 7 p.m.
